Exactly what leaves your store, where it goes, and what happens to it.

This page exists because "we use AI" is not a disclosure. Here is precisely what happens to your data. It is a summary of the privacy policy, which is the authoritative document.

What leaves your store

When you run an analysis, Aidvio reads your product titles, descriptions, tags, image URLs, variants, prices, categories and SEO metadata from the Shopify Admin API.

When you generate an enhancement, the relevant product content is sent to a third-party AI provider, along with your brand-profile context, so the model has what it needs to write in your voice.

If you use the SEO audit features, Aidvio crawls your own storefront's public pages and stores page-level SEO data for your store's URL.

What never leaves your store

  • Customer data. Aidvio does not collect, store, or process it — no names, emails, addresses, orders, or payment details.
  • Your Shopify access token, store credentials, and billing data. These are never sent to an AI provider.
  • Your Shopify password. Authentication is handled entirely by Shopify.

Who processes it

Current AI providers: NVIDIA (AI inference endpoints), OpenAI, and Groq. The full list, including infrastructure providers, is on the subprocessors page.

Training

Your data is not used to train AI models — not ours, and not our providers'. We use API tiers whose terms exclude submitted data from model training.

How long it is retained

  • Product data, scores, brand profile, settings, SEO audit data — retained while Aidvio is installed, so the app can show history and trends.
  • Chat messages — automatically deleted after 90 days.
  • Everything — deleted immediately and automatically when you uninstall. Aidvio receives Shopify's app/uninstalled webhook and erases your store's data: analyses, enhancements, brand profile, settings, chat history, usage records, SEO audit data, and your access token.
  • Shopify sends a shop/redact webhook around 48 hours after uninstall; deletion runs again idempotently, so nothing remains.

Deletion on request

You can request deletion at any time while the app is installed. Email ai@itgeeks.com. We respond within 30 days.

Deleting your Aidvio data does not revert enhancements you already applied to your Shopify products. Those are your product data, written to your store. Undo them before uninstalling if you want them reverted.

Security

  • All data in transit is encrypted with TLS/HTTPS; databases are encrypted at rest.
  • Every app request carries a short-lived, signed Shopify session token. Every webhook is verified with an HMAC-SHA256 signature, and invalid signatures are rejected.
  • Shopify access tokens expire and rotate automatically, and are never exposed to the browser, to logs, or to third parties.

Where it is processed

Our infrastructure providers operate data centers in several countries, including the United States and India. Cross-border transfers are covered by our providers' data-processing agreements, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.
